Ms. Corey

Ms. Corey Harris is a tumbling/gymnastics director, dance instructor, co-owner at Backstage Dance Connection located in Boiling Springs, SC. In the tumbling program children will learn cartwheels, handstands, backhand springs, flips, forward rolls, backwards rolls, round-offs, front tucks, back tucks, walk on the balance beam, and so much more. Backstage Dance Connection also has a full spring floor and foam pit. Ms. Corey teaches hip-hop competition teams.

Ms. Corey is a co-owner and director of Backstage Dance Connection. Ms. Corey has trained dancers in all levels of Hip-Hop, Jazz, Lyrical, Tumbling, Acro, and Poms for over 13 years. She began dancing at a young age and trained competitively in all styles of dance for over 10 years winning multiple Local, State, and National championships.

Ms. Corey was featured as a dancer on an MTV show and also danced (“walked it out”) with DJ Unk. She has studied under notable dancers and choreographers such as Twitch, Denise Wall, Mia Michaels, and Lex Ishimoto to name a few. Ms. Corey attends teacher conventions regularly to further her dance education, and is constantly learning, not only to better herself in the world of dance, but to educate her dancers as well. Ms. Corey was also a choreographer for Dancing with the Spartanburg Stars in 2022.

Ms. Corey’s choreography has won numerous awards on Regional and National levels. Above all, she believes with fun, hard work and commitment, dance can enhance abilities, improve self-confidence, and gives the dancers the freedom to express themselves.

She looks forward to continuing her dance career by inspiring students. Ms. Corey’s proudest accomplishment is being able to see her students take pride in their achievements both individually and in a team setting.
